intensiv-kids: Valuable support for families with special children

In the often challenging world of parenting children with complex illnesses and disabilities, intensiv-kids offers a valuable ray of hope. This dedicated parents' association has set itself the task of offering mothers and fathers of chronically ill and disabled children comprehensive support - from urgently needed time out to practical help in everyday life.

Our vision: joy in life for all children

At intensiv-kids, we firmly believe that children with illnesses or disabilities want to and should enjoy life! Everyone has the right to the fullest possible life. That is why we are committed to connecting and empowering parents and relatives of affected children and young adults.

A place to take a deep breath: the Sunnehus

In beautiful Wildhaus in Toggenburg, the Sunnehus opens its doors to parents who need a break from their demanding everyday lives. Here they can relax for three days and recharge their batteries. The Sunnehus is more than just a place to relax - it is a space where parents feel understood and supported.

What the stay offers:

  • 2 to 3 relaxing overnight stays
  • Full board for relief from everyday life
  • Various house activities for free participation

Particularly pleasing: this offer is free of charge for club members. The reservation fee of CHF 150 will be refunded in full after your stay.

Flexible times for your time out

A special offer will take place from September 16 to 22, 2024, during which a member of the board of intensiv-kids will be on site at times. But the offer is not limited to this period - parents are welcome to take a break in Toggenburg all year round.

Support beyond the recovery

intensiv-kids understands the unique challenges faced by parents of children with special needs. Our board, made up of affected mothers and medical and nursing professionals, provides expert support for:

  • Questions about medical care
  • Challenges in care and support
  • Special needs of children and young adults

If necessary, we can also put you in touch with other members with similar experiences. This exchange is invaluable and gives you the feeling that you are not alone.

Commitment with heart

What sets intensiv-kids apart is the sincere commitment of our Board of Directors. All members work on a voluntary basis and are guided by the joy of life and the desire to help others. We understand from our own experience how important it is to recharge your batteries and draw new strength from time to time.

Together we are stronger

The intensiv-kids community networks from young to old at our cheerful, joyful events for the whole family. We not only offer advice and support on medical issues and everyday care, but also create spaces for people to meet and exchange ideas.

The power of exchange

The exchange with parents who are in a similar situation helps enormously and gives a lot of strength. There are still many things that we can improve in the care of our special children, but also for us as stressed parents. That's what we at Intensiv-kids are committed to.

"We exchange ideas in our forum 'dasanderekind'." - Sibylla Kämpf, President of intensiv-kids.

Become part of our community

We are always happy to welcome new members. Can we inspire you as an affected family or professional to join us? Networking is the big buzzword, and the more members we have, the more weight we carry with our concerns.

Intensiv-kids shows that even in challenging times, moments of calm, joy and mutual support are possible. We are a community that knows what it means to be there for a child with special needs. Here, parents not only find respite, but also understanding and strength for everyday life.
